2013 Owners Meeting

Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts and tweets during my "re-education" in the Motherland. Although I have yet not secured my parole from Siberia, the Gulag's nachal'nik tyur'my have not been able to stop my clandestine planning for the 2013 A.S.S. Owners Meeting.

Before I get to this year's plans, I want to acknowledge last year's activities. It began with an excellent owners meeting and turned into another classic baseball campaign which resulted in Élan hoisting another pennant at the expense of Sharky. The football season started with a classic mini-meet in Colorado that ultimately led to an historic first championship in ANY fantasy sports by the Krunchers. Judging by the debate pictures on Ron's facebook, it may be a first win in any quasi-athletic event in the history of the House of Strayer. Treasure this Ron.

And judging by the Huntington Beach mini-meet, this year will be equally awesome.

Although we have once again been unclefucked by old people with imperialist "chevies", I have secured Verde Camp West and some new digs. I won't go fully into the details but short story - I am staying in the people's house with the keg.

We also have an equally awesome schedule lined up. Wednesday night will kickoff with an expanded Classy night. We'll start at Max's Wine Dive then hop over to the Dunlap District / Rainy Street for some outdoor absinthe at Clive's. Thursday bring an early start to Brewery night, with a late afternoon trip north to the Black Star Co-op Brewery and then back to Rainey Street to see the newly opened Craft Austin. Friday brings the traditional A.S.S. Invitational, Iron Cactus and Sixth Street shenanigans. Saturday will be a bit variable depending if whether KU or KU and UA are in the Final Four. Either way, we will draft and then end up on Rainey Street to explore the new South End bars Javelina and Black Heart.

All in all, it should be more fun than a bag of dicks.

Accommodations

Due to the normal "hot-rod" fuckery, we find ourselves back in West Austin as we were a few years ago. Here is the current housing plan:

• Put three people in the Rana house (''keg headquarters'') in West Austin for all nights
• Put two people in a new place near the Austin Java near Rana house for all nights. We will call this the "Castle Hill House"
• Put two people in Treehouse (West Austin around the corner from Rana) for Wednesday and Thursday. These two people can move over to the new house for Friday and Saturday night.
