2012 Owners Meeting

2011 was another strong year for the League.

Head to head baseball again produced meaningful August fantasy competition, where the battle for the final playoff spot went to the last day. In the end, Elan once again wore the crown -- bringing an unprecedented seventh title to Northern Michigan. In Football, Jeffy appeared to be riding another hot playoff run like the one that took him to the ASSBowl in 2011, but succumbed to the El Dorado Coyotes in overtime. This title marks the Commish's second ASSBowl win.

2011 was the first time that we had ventured outside Chicago for our annual Summer Mini Meet. I think all that attended will agree that Fort Collins represented.

For this year's baseball league, we will be doing something different. Instead of using our homegrown Draft Application ("warroom"), we will move over to the Yahoo! keeper league functionality. This will allow us to use their draft application, just like football. We will need to work out some kinks, but I think that it has matured to the point that it's better than what we have been using. I'll send more information on retention with the new system in March.

I am pleased to announce that I am negotiating for us to return the old South Congress Verde Camp compound. As luck would have it, the Lone Star Car Show that usually plagues our visits has been moved back to April 13th this year. I will update the Accommodations with my progress.

We have secured the "Cicada" and "Mexia" at the old South Congress compound. Each of these houses accommodate three people (one bedroom, one loft, one sofa), so we are booked for six people.
